free Download Restoration 2.5.14

I'm sure some if not most of you, have had times when you've deleted a file or folder and two minutes after realising, have hit yourself for doing so (I know I have). Unless you have the means to restore the file, your going to keep hitting yourself (metaphorically of course) until you can find a way to get the file/folder back.

In comes Restoration. This application, though very small, is extremely powerful. Not only does it allow you to restore accidentally deleted files, it also allows you to delete them on a permanent basis, making it alot more difficult for forensic software to recover.

The only drawback I could find with this application is that each file must be restored seperately, there is no "select all" facility that allows restoring them all in a single go. Whilst this proves somewhat tedious if you have alot of files you wish to restore, it is relatively quick for just a few (indeed the recovery process itself was very quick during testing, taking less than a second for a 1MB image).

Going on the fact the authors homepage vanished some time ago (the only one I could find was a simple page on Geocities for this application), I cannot see the feature being added any time soon. However, unless an application comes along that whilst also being freeware, is as small and powerful as Restoration, this application will remain a much needed and much recommended application for both forensic recovery and permanent deletion usages.
